A: All prices quoted on our website include free delivery within a 7 mile(road miles) radius of our base at Bexhill On Sea East Sussex, there is a charge for deliveries outside these areas. Delivery charges are automatically calculated when booking online.
Q: How do I pay for my booking?
A: A £20 booking fee is required at checkout to confirm your booking & this is deducted from the final hire value. Please note that your booking is not confirmed until this has been paid. We cannot except 'cash on the day' The balance must be paid using our online payment system. We will email you a payment link for the balance 4 days before your event or you can pay in full at checkout. We accept all major debit & credit cards.
Q:I would like to hire more than one item for my event, how do I do that?
A: At checkout you will be given the option to add more items to your order.
Q:What time do you deliver & collect the inflatable?
A: For standard private garden 'day hires' expect your equipment to be delivered anywhere between 7am-12pm. Collections are normally made between 3pm - 5pm Our standard 'day bookings are based on hire periods of up to 5 hrs and the hire duration starts at 12pm and ends at 5pm. Special arrangements can be made if for example your party or event is in the morning. Please let us know at the time of booking using the notes section on the booking form. For a additional fee your hire period can be extended. If your event finishes later than 7pm you will need to book a overnight or 2 day hire. NOTE: It is common for us to deliver early and collect late during our busy periods. Early deliveries will not affect your hire period. Deliveries / collections are dependent on the route set for that day. We will notify you of your delivery slot via email/phone a few days before your event.
Overnight bookings are usually delivered around lunch time and collected from early afternoon the following day.
Latest outdoor collections are as follows: March / April & September - 6pm. May / June / July & August - 7pm.
For hall/venue hires special arrangements can be made to suit your needs. Hall bookings are always prioritised.
For events eg: school fetes, fairs, community events etc, please contact us to discuss your requirements.
Q: Do you offer full weekend hires?
A: Yes, you can hire for periods of up to 3 days. Discounts are offered on full weekend/bank holiday hires. Please see answer to question below.
Q:Can I hire the inflatable over night?
A:Yes, overnight hire is available on selected items. The site must be secure. Please be aware that we will not leave our inflatables overnight if the site is communal/shared, front garden or open fields. We will only allow overnight hires to private secure back gardens. You will be responsible for any loss or damage to our equipment whilst in your care. There is also an ‘overnight’ charge of £40 however if you are hiring for 2/3 days then this will not apply.
Q: My event is being held in a hall and I only require the inflatable for a couple of hours. Are discounts available for short hire periods?
A: Yes. We offer Autumn & Winter discounts. These discounts are applied to our website at the end of our Spring/Summer season. There are no discounts available for short hire periods during Spring & Summer.
Q:Do you set-up the inflatable, or do we have to?
A:We always set-up our inflatables, this is to ensure that the equipment is installed correctly & operates safely.
Q:How long do you require set-up / pack away?
A:Depending on the access to your garden / venue a standard bouncy castle takes around 15 - 20 minutes each end of the event. Multiple items / packages can take up to 1 hour. If your event is in a hall / venue you will need to factor this in when booking. We highly recommend allowing 1 hour at each end of the event, so for example, your party is 2pm - 4pm you would need to book the hall from 1pm - 5pm.
Q:What are the power requirements?
A:For inflatables we will need access to a standard 13 amp socket within 25 meters of the site. We do provide extension leads free of charge however, if we are unable to reach a socket you will need a generator which we can provide at extra cost.
Q:What if it rains?
A:Most of our units are fitted with shower/sun covers & will cope with a passing shower, however if the rain becomes persistent you should not use the inflatable, doing so could be dangerous as the unit becomes very slippery. Note: In the event of bad weather including heavy rain and strong winds we reserve the right to cancel your booking at short notice on grounds of safety. You will not be charged and any money paid in advance will be fully refunded. This includes your booking fee.
Q:Can your inflatable’s be used inside?
A:Most can be used inside without a problem, however, you will need to check the height of the venues ceiling. Over the years we have visited many halls in our local area and are very familiar with the dimensions so if you are unsure please call us for advice.
Q: Can I hire inflatables for outdoor use in the winter?
A: No: From 1st October until 31st March we only except bookings for indoor use eg, in a hall.
Q:Can adults use children’s inflatables?
A:No, under no circumstances must adults use equipment that is not designed for their use. Please check the height limit of your chosen inflatable before hiring. The safety of the user & inflatable could be put at risk & damage may occur thus making the unit unusable for the next hire & you liable to a repair charge. We do offer a range of inflatables with adults in mind.
Q: My garden has a slope, is that ok?
A: It depends on how steep the slope is, a slight slope with a gradient of up to 5% is acceptable. Anything over is not. If you are unsure then please call us for advice.
Q: Can you set up bouncy castle's on concrete / hard-standing / decking?
A: We do not set up our inflatables on concrete, hard-standing or decking. HSE stipulate 163kg of ballast per anchor point in an outdoor environment. The average bouncy castle has a minimum of 6 anchor points, larger inflatables many more. That's a lot of ballast and not very practical! We also won't use anchor bolts as the process is very time consuming and will in most cases outweigh the value of the equipment hired. There is also the safety of the users to consider if the inflatable is left unsupervised. We need a secure fixing into turf.
Q: Can you set up on artificial grass?
A: Depending on the unlaying surface it is possible. We can drive stakes through the artificial grass. The base must be soil & not MOT / sand to enable a firm fixing. If you choose this option then Airplay Inflatables cannot except responsibility for any damage that may be caused. Please note that we cannot use ballast bags outdoors.
Q: Why are there two measurements for your inflatables?
A: The first measurement is the physical size of the inflatable. The second measurement is the space required to accommodate the inflatable safely, all mooring points, the fan and inflation tube to the rear and crash mats to the front. YOU NEED TO USE THE REQUIRED SPACE MEASUREMENT.
Q: What are the access requirements?
A: In most cases we require a minimum access point of 2.5ft - 3ft. This can be a standard side gate/doorway. We can take equipment though your house however this isn't desirable and we accept no responsibility for any damage that may be caused by doing so. Please check the access requirements of your chosen equipment by clicking on the size tab within the product page.
Q: I live in a flat and have access to a communal garden is that ok?
A: Yes provided you have permission from the land owner. We will need to see proof of permission in writing/email along with a contact number at time of booking. We will not except a text message as proof.
Q: We have booked a face painter, can face painted children use the inflatable?
A: Unfortunately due to the mess that face paint can create, the risk of permanent staining and the extra time required at the end of your event to remove it we do not allow face paint on any of our equipment, this also includes glitter, party poppers, confetti balloons, silly string and bubble mixture. We understand that face painting is popular at parties & events so If you are going to have a face painter and have answered yes to the face painter question during the booking process then a £50 refundable deposit will automatically be added at checkout. Provided that the equipment is returned in the condition it was hired to you in the deposit will be refunded within 5 working days of your event. Please note that any excessive cleaning required due to the above in chargeable at £50 and any deposit will be forfeited. Any permeant damage caused is chargeable at the cost of repair/replacement.
For more information please read our terms & conditions of hire
Q: We are having a barbeque. How far away from the bouncy castle does the barbeque need to be?
A: Barbeques should be at least 20ft away from our equipment
Q: We have a sandpit in our garden, is it ok for children to use the inflatable with sandy feet?
A: Sand is very abrasive and will cause damage to our equipment. Sandpits must not be used during the hire period.
Q: Do you do manned events?
A: Unfortunately we don't have the staff available to man our equipment. Manning is the responsibility of the hirer.
Q: I wish to cancel my booking. What is your refund & cancellation policy?
A: Please read our refund & cancellation policy here
